Alan Thicke joins David Spade in ABC's "Bad Management" pilot

By Tim Kenneally

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Congratulations, Alan Thicke - it's a boy! A David Spade, to be exact.

"Growing Pains" icon and topnotch TV theme-song composer Thicke has joined the cast of the upcoming ABC pilot "Bad Management," as the father of David Spade's character.

The pilot, written by Sharon Horgan and Holly Walsh, centers on a slightly slightly self-centered female boss at a high-end luxury-goods department store who finds her ways challenged when the boss's son (Tobias Jr.) comes to town and makes youth and sex the new company focus.

Thicke - regarded by some as Canada's greatest natural resource - will play Eastmore, department store owner and man from whose loins Tobias Jr. sprung.

Horgan also stars in the ABC Studios/Kapital Entertainment project, and is also executive producing, with "The Neighbors" and "GCB" producer Aaron Kaplan.
